There was a time, long ago, when sex hookups were incredibly frowned upon by society. You were supposed to date people for a decent chunk of time before allowing someone in your pants. You most certainly were not encouraged to go out to a bar with the sole intention of sex hookups. This would brand you a slut for life, particularly if you were a woman. Men, as always, got away with things a bit more than women could, but even men were labeled a certain way if word got around that they went out carousing with only one thing in mind. Well, times have immensely changed over the past decade or so, especially since the introduction of the internet. Sex hookups have become commonplace.
Yes, the internet could almost be considered a second sexual revolution. Its influence is positively astounding if you really sit down and dwell on it. Every single person with an internet connection has the ability to do previously unspeakable things with their bodies behind closed doors. And sometimes with those doors wide open. The world is incredibly blase about sex hookups today. Meeting someone online or even at a bar for fornication is as vanilla as it gets these days; no one blinks an eye. There are far nastier things for the repressed morality police to be concerned about. As soon as people received the ability to go online from their living rooms to cruise for sex hookups at a moment’s notice, all the rules instantly changed. Even women can freely announce these days that they are going out to get laid. They are no longer harshly judged and branded with a scarlet letter.
Sex hookups can be dangerous things. They should not be taken entirely lightly, especially by vulnerable women. Along with diseases, there are some men who could become abusive. Prudence must always be taken before going off with a total stranger. Let your friends know where you will be. More permissive sexuality does not mean you should be stupid.
